[The first thing Makoto experiences upon waking up is disorientation. One moment, she was in Tokyo, coming off of the high that came with their concert in the Tokyo Dome and chilling with her friends post-concert. The next? Well, she was washed up on some beach somewhere with a load of scratches covering her body and nothing seems to make much sense. It's quiet and eerie and Makoto is decidedly not good at handling that sort of thing.
She's jumpy and nervous at best, and probably prone to screaming if someone catches her by surprise. She wanders across the beach cautiously, trying to figure out what the hell is going on. And maybe, just maybe, there's a tiny voice at the back of her head reminding her that she's normally braver than this. Not that this situation is her fault, really.
After awhile of searching, though, she decides to call out for help.]
Hello!? Is anyone there!?

Hello!? Is anyone there!?

[ His voice is gentle, though there's a bit of chiding in it. ]
There is a city I escaped from long ago that was lit up like this... it gave me pause. But there's nothing to be afraid about. Besides, I certainly am not sleeping on the ground!

Hopefully this city isn't anything like that one. We'll figure it out, right? I don't really want to sleep on the floor either.

[ As they get closer, he can't help but feel a little more anxious. It doesn't really show on his face other than his pursing his lips together. High above the buildings of the city, he searches for a quiet place to land and does so carefully, looking around so the same thing isn't repeated. He doesn't want to see those machines pointed at him again... ]

Thankfully there's a quiet place to land towards the outskirts, where it appears barely anyone is out despite the apparent bustling of the city otherwise.]

You're used to a place like this... so perhaps you'd like to lead?

[But she does take the lead, making a point to walk through the streets to try to keep an eye out for a hotel... or something.
And the first few refuse to take them. No money, and they clearly just rolled into the world. It isn't their first rodeo. But she keeps trying, and they do eventually find a place to stay. For the night, at least.]

'Monster'. 'Beast'...
He wasn't entirely surprised. It was the same thing back in Petir. No matter how much of the king's blessing he had, most still treated him like a dog off its leash. Aspen had kept his distance after the first few suspicious glances, hanging back and not speaking so Makoto could take care of their accommodations. Once they're alone, though... ]
Thank you.

Don't worry about it. Everyone was being a huge jerk anyway.

While not untrue, I wonder if you'd have been better received if I was not with you. I don't see why they could call you a beast, after all.

[She's not even paying any mind to the mirrors because she knows she looks like hell and honestly doesn't want to see it.]

[ It's a gentle reprimand, before he's rummaging around with a huff. ]
Suppose it was too much to imagine they would have anything lying around...
