[princeproblems]

[The first thing Makoto experiences upon waking up is disorientation. One moment, she was in Tokyo, coming off of the high that came with their concert in the Tokyo Dome and chilling with her friends post-concert. The next? Well, she was washed up on some beach somewhere with a load of scratches covering her body and nothing seems to make much sense. It's quiet and eerie and Makoto is decidedly not good at handling that sort of thing.

She's jumpy and nervous at best, and probably prone to screaming if someone catches her by surprise. She wanders across the beach cautiously, trying to figure out what the hell is going on. And maybe, just maybe, there's a tiny voice at the back of her head reminding her that she's normally braver than this. Not that this situation is her fault, really.

After awhile of searching, though, she decides to call out for help.]

Hello!? Is anyone there!?

It's gonna be a long flight. Are you sure?

I'll be fine, I have more than enough stamina. It's not as if I need a breakneck pace, or is that the case?

However, if you would rather another way...

[princeproblems]

No, no, it's fine, we don't gotta go that fast, I just wanted to make sure you were okay with going that far! You're doing an awful lot of work.

[miell]

[ He chuckles gently, shaking his head. ]

My king would have me dance for hours, this is nothing. The wind isn't so cold, either... so it should be fairly easy.

But if I become tired, I'll let you know. [ Actually he might not because she's quite frankly, obviously younger. Even if she's a little taller. ] Are you alright?

[princeproblems]

I'm... as fine as can be expected, y'know? Everything's all weird and it's waaaay outside of anything I've ever dealt with before. The only things I can do are sing, dance, and play sports.

[But hey, at least he's patient. And also not bad. She likes to think she's a decent enough judge of character.]

[miell]

Hm, I can do two of those. I can't even do the third. Seems you've a leg up on me.

[ It's a gentle tease, to try and lighten her mood. ]

It's alright. This is... not my comfort zone, either. We will find our way.

[princeproblems]

I know... We'll figure it out when we get to Bavan, yeah? The only way we can go is up.

[She's trying to be optimistic, and there's a ghost of a smile on her face.]

Quite literally, yes. [ He laughs softly before crouching slightly, so they can take back off. ]

[princeproblems]

[She thumps his shoulder—she's stronger than she appears, but she doesn't mean it to hurt—and then situates herself so that they can take off.]

I wasn't trying to make a joke!

[miell]

[ He lets out a soft 'oof' when she does. He doesn't want to let it show that he's quite frail, but moments like this do make it apparent. He clears his throat as he takes a moment to flap his wings before taking off into the sky. ]

Clearly you have a natural charm. Singing and dancing... so you're a performer too?

With 765 Productions! Me and all of my friends work there, we just got done performing there when this happened.

[miell]

[ It's strange, she looks rather young but if she's already performing, she must be skilled for her age. ]

'765 Productions'... I've never heard of such a thing. But you are very blessed to have friends alongside you.

[princeproblems]

[She's 17 tyvm.]

We're gonna become the most popular group in the world, just wait and see! [There's a tinge of pride in her voice at that.]

What about you? Why'd the king make you dance so much?

[ He's 23, you're tiny to him. ]

In the world... quite a lofty goal.

[ Aspen lets out a little hum then. ]

Ah... well, I'm his favorite. As lead courtesan, I am the most skilled in performance, so of course he would like to show the best of his kingdom to others.

[princeproblems]

Courtesan, like... just a performer? That's pretty interesting!

[She innocently doesn't know what he's trying to say.]

[ Makoto has the unfortunate circumstance of ending up with Aspen, who was not handled with kid gloves pretty much ever. ]

A courtesan is a stand-in for a partner, except it is my job to please in any way asked of me. We're reserved for those with a higher standing... nobles, kings, emperors. My talent in performing is not usual.

Ehhhh, that's pretty cool! You get to make use of all your talents and everything...

True. I am very lucky to have the position I do. Which makes this...

[ He looks down as they fly, a frown creeping onto his face. ]

... so strange.

[princeproblems]

[She frowns, looking down at the ground.]

I know. I don't... know what happened. Or why it happened.

[miell]

Neither do I. I can only suspect some sort of cursed magic is at work... waking up with so many scratches is not strange for me, but in a strange place at a strange time?

It demands caution.

[princeproblems]

It makes me wonder what happened when we were asleep. I just wanted to spend the night with my friends! I didn't want this to happen!

[miell]

One has to wonder if, perhaps, sleeping again would return us...

[princeproblems]

Maybe, but we gotta get somewhere safe first. I don't wanna try sleeping only to get woken up by those kinds of people again.

[miell]

Heh, of course. I'm certainly not going to fall asleep mid-flight.

[ A pause. ]

Though my eyelids are getting quite... heavy...
